“Five AM!? What the hell? I must have been up for nearly a half hour, at least!” She shook her head. “Oh well, I better get to work on making brekky…”
She clicked her door shut behind her and worked her way through the second-story maze of hallways. She smiled to herself, remembering that she would have to give Muko the tour that day. She came to one of the many staircases and descended them swiftly, coming out of the stairwell right near the main kitchen.
Then Doki got to work, making herself eggs and toast, and scrambled eggs for Qiesu, who didn’t like her eggs over-easy. Up popped the toast out of the toaster. Doki jumped and finished getting the eggs out of the pan. Then she moved over to the counter to butter up the toast. She put tinfoil over the plates and set them on the oak-wood table in the dining room. Then she set out cups and got herself a big glass of orange juice. She sat at the table and enjoyed a peaceful meal with herself.

But of course, Doki was not destined to have a good morning. So as she sat munching on her toast, she flicked on the T.V. The new broadcast rang through the room, the updates echoing. “And today, though it will be beautiful, the cold draft will still be continuing. In other news, newer author Manna has her new book out. But stocks are tied as rival author Icho Momato threatens to knock her down for good.” Doki became visibly agitated, and failed to notice Qiesu walk into the room. “Up so early?" she asked, grinning at Doki’s surprised look. Doki regained her self and stuck out her tongue.
“Yeah, it’s really weird, huh?” Qiesu nodded and sat down to dine. “Manna, huh?” she asked through a mouthful of scrambled eggs. Doki nodded. “She’s my favorite writer, although I can find things to debate with her.” Qiesu nodded.

“But she has a great imagination. It reminds me of you!” Dokie smiled at the compliment. “Well, that’s cool. You like her too, I presume?” Qiesu nodded. “I’d love to meet her, but under that pen name no one can find her!” Doki only nodded. “But I’m worried. That evil Icho might knock her down…” Qiesu laughed. “It’s a vicious world. Although Icho’s books are … interesting, I find they hold no meaning. It’s like reading the rough draft of a speech…”
“I know what you mean,” Doki replied, nodding. “That’s why Manna must stay in!”
Qiesu shook her head. “I wonder what Manna thinks of all this…” she wondered aloud. Doki smiled. “I’ve been corresponding with her over e-mail. If you’d like you could e-mail her from my computer.” Qiesu jumped at the chance. “Yes! I would like that very much!”

Doki nodded and drained her orange juice from her cup. “But first we should get to work! There is much to do to get ready!” Qiesu nodded, then a question hit her. “Doki, what did you say to M—”
Doki cut her off with a cough. “If you’re talking about the Wench, I will not let you utter his name until everyone gets here. I don’t want to hear his name until it is necessary.” Qiesu sighed, but honored Doki’s request.
“What did you tell him when you asked him to come? You didn’t tell him he’d be here, alone, with you, did you?” Doki coughed and almost choked on the last of her toast. “What? You think I’d tell him that!?” She shook her head. “I said I was inviting Yuka and a couple other people over and Yuka was bound to invite him along anyways so why didn’t he just come? He seemed to accept it quite well.” Qiesu nodded, though she still wasn’t so sure about it.

Just then Muko staggered down the stairs. "So, noisy," she complained, clawing at her ears. Qiesu laughed. "MOrning, Gorgeous." Muko sighed. "So I take it him and Yuka are still friends?"
Doki jumped. "You were listening?" she asked, but her voice was drowned out by Qiesu. "I guess so, huh? Say, who all did you invite! Where's the guest list?"

Doki groaned. "Alright, alright. I'll grab it."
She jolted up and walked into the kitchen, leaning over the counter, looking for the paper. Urg, why did Qiesu have to bug her like this? She'd already gotten so much information about the Wench. Why did she need to know any more about it?
She grabbed the list and walked back to Muko and Qiesu. "Here," she grumbled, jabbing it over.
Muko glanced down through the names, while Qiesu recited them aloud. "Qiesu, Muko, Ino, Ai, (Dia), Yuka, Que--"
Muko jumped. "So you DID invite him!" she exclaimed. She wasn't expecting that. Doki nodded glumly, going over to sit on her couch. Why was that girl such a grouch? Muko wondered to herself.
"Going on," Qiesu pressed, "Alice, Muno--"
"WHAT!? YOU WROTE HIS NAME OUT!?" Muko shouted, awed.
"Yes, so!? What the hell is that outburst!?" Doki screamed back and Qiesu just laughed.
