Thaniel blinked again, this time by choice. For a while he sat there, staring at the girl across the table. Finally he must have remembered she was waiting for a reply. "Wow, well, that's exciting," he told her, leaning forward on his wrist. He casually scratched at the back of his head. "And... interesting. But you still haven't told me your name."
His headache was ebbing away, but his beer was starting to fuzz his thoughts. Yet in this oncoming stupor he was still able to conclude that his best plan of action was to just ignore the last comment. If she was serious, which he severely doubted, he at least wanted to know her name first.

She frowned, staring at her drink, watching ever so intently the carbonation rise to the surface in the form of those mesmerizing tiny bubbles. Slowly, she brought the mug to her lips and sipped thoughtfully. No... she had told him. Of that, she was sure. And she set the mug back in its former position, shaking her head. "But I have; it is Arcane," she explained, her annunciating coming back in its fullest as only the upper class in Grauge did.

Thaniel, who had raised his beer to his lips to sip at the edge, spluttered and choked at the liquid. He slammed the glass back down, ignoring the foamy substance that lipped over the rim and ran down his fingers, and wiped at his mouth with the back of his wrist. "That," he asked incredulously, "is actually your name?" He could feel his nose pinching at the odd fizzy feeling he received from snorting up the alcohol, and rubbed at his nose, too. "I... wow, I'm sorry. I thought you were just being..." His mind was completely lost in disbelief. He chortled a bit, his eyes distant, then focused on her once again. "I never realized that was your name."

Her eyes watched him, disconcerted for the moment as he had his little epiphany. Slowly, a soft laughter rose from her throat at the realization that he thought "arcane" had been used as an adjective. "No, no... You moron. Arcane is my name. ... Wow. I guess you really do not keep up with politics," she muttered as an afterthought, suddenly gaining a new amusement for this odd youth. Had it been any other person, they'd probably had caught on. This place was diverse enough. She was sure half of the population had already guessed who she was.
Even though... she'd forgotten who she was... As far as statuses went.

ooc; oh my, I saw "statuses" and thought "what's a statuse?" thinking it was something like statute. I searched and saw the plural and was like >.> Oh, well... -stalks away feeling stupid-
ic; Thaniel became (seemingly) indignant at being called a moron. Playfully he scowled at this crazy enigma, not realizing that she had basically just revealed herself as an apparently prominent political figure. Oh the irony (hee hee, Thaniel's thick sometimes <3).
Then he gave up his charade and fell back into his chair with a passive shrug. "Politics," he said with a look of absolute disgust on his face. Thaniel glanced down at his twiddling thumbs, letting them catch his full attention. And he left it at that, as though that somehow settled the whole matter. He continued on to the next subject and asked, "So what else? There's got to be at least something a bit more to you." He thought a moment. "Other than politics." Okay, so maybe he wasn't exactly letting it go.

ooc;; XDD -huggles- S'all good, lurvie.
ic;; She grinned. A rather demonic grin; her lips twisting upwards slowly and broadening. "'Something' does not even begin to cover it." But her expression lightened as soon as the words had left her mouth. It was unusual to see such a look on her face. Mostly because she took precautions to not look so... clinically insane. "I have a thing or two that makes me... perhaps a tad bit different from the norm," she agreed. "But we might be here a while should I care to go into detail about each one. And you might grow bored of it. And leave. And there is no fun in being left alone when you are feeling kind of shitty, right?"

Thaniel grimaced. "No, that would be no fun," he agreed. He gently clasped his hands together, elbows resting on the table, and let his head lean onto his hands. His headache was fleeting, almost already gone. His eyes flickered shut and he voiced his next question: the most important question. "Want another drink?"
ooc; Shoooooort xP Oh well, I'll edit it later. Figured I needed to put one up.

ooc;; ahah... sorry for not replying for a little while. xD;
ic;; She merely grinned and nodded slightly. "That sounds like it could be fun. So long as you do not ask me any questions concerning my personal life.... I fear I am in a state which does not allow me to really hold anything to myself." She was quite serious. Only hoped that he wouldn't take advantage of it... Well. Consciously. Perhaps he was in a state that wouldn't allow him to NOT take advantage of it. ... dundundunnn.

ooc; no problem! I'm just glad you actually replied x3 (joking)
ic; Dun dun dunnnn? "Sounds like a good plan. Deal." And with that Thaniel hailed down a waitress. "Another round, please," he told the woman, handing her the money. She nodded briefly and hurried off to the counter, returning with their drinks. "Thank you," he said, accepting them, and placed one down in front of Arcane. "Your drink, milady." He said it as a joke, but not perhaps in a mean way.
ooc; which reminds me, in a weird way, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM IS SO FUNNY. hee hee
